Crail Airfield
is an ideal location for most film production use.
Situated on the East Coast of Scotland about 10 miles south of St. Andrews,
Crail is set amongst fantastic scenery with close links to airports and cities.
The surrounding area offers vast accomodation options and some of the best
golfing available in the world.
The site contains a number of unique facilities/location uses/workshops etc.
Perhaps of most interest is the aircraft hangar, measuring 35ft at its lowest
point, with floor space of 600,000sq ft, most recently used for a blue screen
shoot for BBC programme "Weird Science."
Other buildings include the old control tower, a wooden floored cinema/gymnasium
and several underground bunkers pill boxes and old barrack/classroom blocks.
The four runways and circular road are in extremely good condition and are
used regularly for motorsport and driver training. There is over 4 1/2 miles
of tarmac, with the circular road running adjacent to the sea, marked out
like an old twisty country road.
